Gabion Testing, Manufacturing Standards & BBA Certification
CERTIFIED SUPPLY CHAIN COMPLIANCE
We dispatch welded gabions out of our shared Burton-on-Trent facility alongside our parent company, Enviromesh Group Ltd. All BBA-approved cages are produced in partnership with certificate holder Link Middle East Ltd (BBA 05/4215), complying strictly with British and European civil engineering standards.
1. On-Site Production
We custom fabricate and stock thousands of certified gabions directly at our UK facility.

3. British & European (BS EN / ISO) Standards Compliance
Our gabion cages are manufactured, tested, and specified in accordance with the following official engineering frameworks:
| Standard Reference | What the Standard Governs | How Our Gabions Comply |
|---|---|---|
| BBA Certificate 05/4215 | British Board of Agrément third-party verification for structural retaining walls. | Held by manufacturing partner Link Middle East Ltd and distributed via parent company Enviromesh Group Ltd. Fully approved for UK highway and civil infrastructure projects |
| ISO 9001:2015 (1UK/1/8653936469) | Quality Management Systems for manufacturing, design, and distribution. | Assessed and certified by Peers Quality Assurance Ltd at our shared Burton-on-Trent facility. |
| BS EN 10223-8:2013 | Steel wire mesh products for fencing and netting — Part 8: Welded mesh gabions. | Specifies wire tensile strength, 75mm x 75mm mesh aperture tolerances, and minimum 75% weld shear strength. |
| BS EN 10244-2:2009 (Class A Coating) | Non-ferrous metallic coatings on steel wire — Zinc or Zinc-Aluminium alloy coatings. | All wire is Galfan coated 95% Zinc 5%, Aluminium, achieving Class A heavy coating weight for corrosion resistance. |
| BS EN 10218-2:2012 | Steel wire and wire products — General wire dimensions and diameter tolerances. | Guarantees strict wire diameter tolerances across 3mm standard mesh 4mm commercial mesh. |
| BS EN 60229:2008 | Coating abrasion, wear, and mechanical impact resistance testing. | Protective polymer/organic mesh coatings undergo mechanical abrasion testing to ensure durability against coarse rock infill. |
| EN ISO 9223:2012 (Table 1 Classification) | Corrosion of metals and alloys — Atmospheric corrosivity and working life estimation. | Carries an estimated working design life of up to 50 years in low-aggressiveness C2 environments. |
