Project Background

The Bath Landscape Gardener was hired to transform a garden that had been left in poor condition following a house renovation. As the site was sloping, the project needed more than just a visual makeover, requiring a new retaining wall. Neil, owner of The Bath Landscape Gardener, got in touch with Wire Fence to build a retaining wall with multiple levels, the highest section measuring 1.2 metres.

Solution

After discussing the requirements, 4mm Galfan-coated gabions were chosen for the project, with internal stone separating panels to reduce costs and to suit the different retaining wall sections.

Installation Process

The installation was carried out by The Bath Landscape Gardener, with great attention to detail throughout the build.

The gabion baskets were assembled on site, fitted with helical connectors and internal stone separating panels before being filled with decorative stone. The retaining walls were built at varying heights to create level garden spaces while blending naturally into the surrounding landscape, resulting in a clean and professional finish.

Final Result

The completed retaining walls provide both reliable structural support and an attractive feature that has transformed what was once a neglected outdoor space into a modern, welcoming garden.
