Customer Project of June 2026
WireFence selects the team’s favourite customer project every month. In June, we feature four customer reviews with images, with the winning project chosen through a vote from our review photos.
1. June’s Pick – Chicken Run

Last month’s winning project belongs to Niall, who built a secure chicken run for his newly acquired Sussex Bantams.
I used WireFence to help me build a chicken run for our newly acquired Sussex Bantams. We have a fox on site (seen on our wildlife cameras) so we went robust with a 16g 50×50 skirt around the base and a 16g 25×25 lower fence. We topped this with regular chicken net to give the extra height. Plus it encloses a hedge.
Joy supported throughout and at times felt like a member of our construction team! I made an error on one purchase and Joy was quick enough to spot it and help me cancel it.
Thanks team – I’ll use you again. An expansion project perhaps!
-Niall R.

We loved this project because it’s a brilliant example of designing with predator protection in mind. The combination of heavy-duty welded mesh around the base and lighter netting above creates a practical, secure enclosure while making good use of the existing hedge. It’s clear a lot of thought went into every detail, and we’re delighted we could help along the way.
2. Honorable Mention – Gabion Bench
This project belongs to our customer Lynne, who created a beautiful garden bench using gabion baskets filled with limestone and finished with a handmade timber seat. The finished result shows how versatile gabions are and how naturally they can complement a garden.
