Further Tips on How to Make a Tree Guard

  • Shape the edge of the wire mesh by gently bending it by hand or around a rounded object.
  • Measure the tree trunk to determine the correct diameter.
  • Select the height according to the type of animal you need to protect the tree from.
  • Most young trees only require a single stake, while taller or less stable trees may benefit from two stakes for added support.
  • For a quicker and simpler installation, you can use a ready-made tree guard instead.
  • Alternatively, use metal or plastic posts if wooden stakes are not available.
