J & M’s Bunny Haven Wins WireFence’s International Rabbit Day Giveaway

A small rabbit and guinea pig rescue in Cornwall has won WireFence’s International Rabbit Day giveaway, receiving a prize made up of a £100 contribution from WireFence and generous donations from supporting businesses.

What is International Rabbit Day?

International Rabbit Day is a day dedicated to celebrating rabbits and raising awareness of their welfare and the care they need. It’s also a chance to recognise the incredible work of rabbit rescues and charities that provide abandoned and unwanted rabbits with food, veterinary care, safe shelter and, hopefully, loving forever homes.

This year, we wanted to use the occasion to do something a little extra for the people working tirelessly to help them.

Our Winner

We’re delighted to announce that J & M’s Bunny Haven – Liskeard is the winner of our International Rabbit Day giveaway! 🎉

J and M’s Bunny Haven is a dedicated rabbit and guinea pig rescue located near Liskeard in Cornwall. With over 11 years of experience, we are the only rescue of its kind in Cornwall, offering boarding and rehoming services for rabbits and guinea pigs. Our mission is to provide a safe and loving environment for our residents while helping them find their forever homes. We believe in making a positive difference in the lives and welfare of animals and we encourage everyone to get involved. Whether you volunteer your time, make a donation, or advocate online, there are so many ways to make a difference. We primarily run as a sanctuary now for elderly and end of life rabbits and guinea pigs, to offer them dignity in their final days. – Jess Wright

J & M’s Bunny Haven took part by sharing our official International Rabbit Day Facebook post and also writing a blog post about the giveaway on their website.

Organisations that added a link to the giveaway from their own website received an additional 100 likes, which were added to their Facebook total. This helped J & M’s Bunny Haven reach the winning total.

Supporters & Sponsors

We’ve started the prize pot with a £100 donation from WireFence, and we’ve added all the generous contributions from our sponsors and supporters to it.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has joined us and helped make this possible!

Prize Pot

Here’s what the winning rabbit rescue received:

• WireFence – £100 donation
• Small Pet Select – 10 lb box of 2nd Cutting Timothy Hay
• Buttercup Pet Products – Water bottle holder and hay rack set

How the Giveaway Worked

The giveaway was open to UK-based rabbit rescues, charities and organisations supporting rabbit welfare.

To enter, participating organisations shared the official WireFence International Rabbit Day Facebook post on their own Facebook page and encouraged their supporters, friends and followers to like their shared post. The rescue or organisation with the most likes by 26 September would win the entire prize pot.

We also wanted to give smaller rescues a fair chance, regardless of how many followers they had on Facebook. As part of the giveaway, any participating rescue or organisation that added a link to the International Rabbit Day giveaway article from their own website received an additional 100 likes, which were added to the number of likes on their shared Facebook post.

Thank You to Everyone Who Took Part

We’d like to thank every rescue and charity that took the time to join in, share the giveaway and encourage their supporters to get involved.

There are so many wonderful organisations caring for rabbits across the UK, and we’re very grateful to everyone who took part and helped us celebrate International Rabbit Day.

Most importantly, congratulations again to J & M’s Bunny Haven! 🐰❤️

We hope the prize will be useful to the rescue and provide some extra support for the rabbits and guinea pigs in their care.
