Customer Project of October 2024

The WireFence team loves seeing our products come to life in your unique projects.
At the end of each month, we vote on a customer project based on shared review photos, emails, and LiveChat images. This October, we’re thrilled to feature a clever DIY use for our mesh panels, with a couple of honourable mentions to inspire you too!

October’s Pick – Tim’s Puppy-Proof Bookshelf

This month’s favourite project goes to Tim, who used our mesh panels in a unique way: to puppy-proof his bookshelf. With a new puppy in the house, Tim needed a way to protect his music collection from getting pawed or chewed. The sheets provided an easy-to-fit solution that keeps the collection safe without altering the aesthetic of his space. Tim simply cut the panels to size, and they blended in seamlessly, adding function without drawing attention.

It’s inspiring to see our products creatively adapted for daily life! Tim’s project highlights how mesh panels can be both practical and almost invisible. The sleek, sturdy addition allows him to relax, knowing his belongings are protected—and his puppy can explore the room without trouble.

“We needed to stop the new puppy pulling all the music off the bookshelf and chewing it to bits. The WireFence mesh arrived promptly, was easy to cut and fit, and does the job perfectly and unobtrusively.

I quickly found the best way to cut it is with the side cutters on a pair of large pliers (photo attached of mine). This makes it really quick and accurate.  (I initially tried a hacksaw, but it wanders because the wire bends, and it’s much more work.  Ordinary wire cutters aren’t really up to it.)” – Tim

It would be a shame not to showcase a couple of other lovely customer projects as well, to serve as inspiration for anyone else looking for creative ways to utilize our products.
