Wire Fence Supports UK Wild Otter Trust with £1,256.64 of Cost-Price Fencing to Rebuild Their Home
On 9th October, Wire Fence supplied £1,256.64 of cost-price fencing to the UK Wild Otter Trust in North Devon, helping the charity rebuild its otter rehabilitation centre following the need to relocate from its previous site.
Otter Trust Needs to Relocate Home
On 2nd October 2025, the UK Wild Otter Trust announced that it needs to relocate its rehabilitation centre in North Devon. The charity has been given notice to vacate its current site, which includes otter enclosures and a hospital, and must dismantle and move all facilities while continuing to care for the animals.
A new site has been generously offered by a supporter, and the Trust is now nearing completion of its rebuilt facilities and enclosures, which are expected to be fully ready by April.
Wire Fence’s Support
As the Trust prepared to leave its original site – with the existing enclosures, originally built with support from Wire Fence, due for demolition – we were keen to help once again.
On 9th October 2025, fencing materials were supplied with a discount of £1,256.64 to help construct the new rehabilitation enclosures. This fencing has formed the basis for at least 20 secure spaces where otters can be safely housed during their recovery.
UPDATE: New Enclosures Now Taking Shape
Rebuilding is now well underway at the new site, and the otter enclosures are almost finished.
Recent images shared by the UK Wild Otter Trust show the new enclosures taking shape, marking a milestone in the relocation and ensuring that vital rehabilitation work can continue without interruption.
